The appointment is the first stage in the Library's 'Feed The Christian Mind' campaign set to launch in the spring. The Library's campaign aims to introduce a whole new generation of Christians to its vast collection of historic and contemporary evangelical works. Professor Paul Helm, Chair of the Library's trustees, says, "There is a goldmine of spiritual wisdom available here in an age where religious confusion, even among evangelicals, is on the increase. Modern Christians need to be reminded of the apostle Paul's warning of the consequence of neglecting to 'feed our Christian minds' in the opening verses of Romans chapter 10." He adds, "It is vital that we make the very best of historic and contemporary writing as widely available as possible and I am delighted that Peter is bringing his experience as a communications professional and as a keen advocate of historic evangelicalism to help towards this goal." Peter Glover, 47, says, "I am only too pleased to help make this vital spiritual resource more generally accessible, not least to a new generation of Christian readers. It is our hope that many church leaders will themselves join as members and encourage their congregations to do likewise, as our publicity campaign gets under way in the coming months." Peter anticipates making the Library's catalogue available on-line for the first time by the spring. CD-rom catalogues, an advertising campaign and other new developments are also planned for 2002/3. Unlike most libraries it is also possible to borrow the Evangelical Library's books through its special postal service. You can also visit the Library itself daily every Monday to Saturday between 10am and 5pm at 78A Chilton Street, just by Baker Street tube entrance in central London.
